VOLUNTEER PROFILE: Weber Media Partners
Marketing firm Weber Media Partners found its way to Facing Cancer Together through President Catherine Weber's friendship with participant Debbie Hemley. Catherine saw the difference the former Wellness Community of Greater Boston was making in the life of her friend and wanted to find a way to contribute to the organization.
In 2007, Catherine started to teach monthly collage classes and facilitated art workshops at day-long retreats. When the Wellness Community's doors closed in early 2009, Catherine offered her marketing services pro bono to Facing Cancer Together. When Catherine's team of freelancers learned about the needs of the organization, they too wanted to help and volunteered their services. Catherine designed a concert flyer, tickets and a temporary website, while team members Ashley Lazonick , owner of Ace Creative designed the organization's brochure and website, Amy Rosenfield managed the projects and wrote copy, Dave Crusoe managed technical resources, and Paul Weber built the website. Ashley's friend, photographer Martha Stewart , donated her time to photograph support group participants and the Noel Paul Stookey fundraising concert.
"I am honored and proud to work with a team of talented and generous professionals," Catherine said. "Its been a great joy to work with the clinicians at Facing Cancer Together to see these projects through to fruition."
